This week we were starting prep. Our group made mini race cars and mini picnic tables. In Grey Main School for prep our money is called kiwi dollars, its not real money though. My group is selling the mini picnic tables for 15 kiwi and it has a mini decoration on it and 18 kiwi for one to be decorated yourself or tell us what to draw on the picnic table. I'm really excited for big market at prep

Walt: Apply our maths strategies to real life word problems.
This week for maths we had to do a problem solving task. The sheet had 4 questions. here are my answers for the questions. i liked doing this activity because some of these i had a little help from... but its fine because i like hard activity's. Have you ever had to count animals legs before? But not on maths sheet's from teachers.

The Giraffe and the Little Girl
Walt: Write descriptive sentences.
For this activity we had to look at a picture and then write a story about it that uses description. Have any of you ever seen a little girl walking a little giraffe before? Well I haven't! In my story I imagined this to happen. This is sort of a sad story and a happy story so here's my story. I hope you like it!
I think I need to use different types of adjectives next time like adjectives to describe texture, size and shape not just colour.

We could either do it on our Chromebook or do it on paper. I chose my Chromebook then I found images of the places in the story. In the key I have explained each of the settings and the order they appeared in the story. This is my drawing, I hope you like it.

Matariki Kite Day
Our group made a kite out of a black rubbish bag, paper, string, a toilet roll, colour and bamboo.
First we got the bamboo and made it into a star, then we stuck the bamboo on the rubbish bag with a hot glue gun. Next we made stars then coloured them, cut them out and stuck them on the back of the kite. After that I thought about making a Matariki name in the middle of the kite so I did. I did it in bubble writing and also I cut it out. I had help with the bubble writing though. After that we stuck the string on the toilet roll and with coloured pens we wrote Matariki on it. Then we glued the top of the string near the top so it could fly a bit higher. I hope you liked our kite!

The One and Only Ivan Prediction Poem
W.A.L.T Make predictions to help us understand what we read.
This is my groups poster, poem and prediction about what we think will happen in the book, The one and only Ivan. This task was hard because we had to use the chapter headings from the book and make up a poem using them. The poem had to tell what we think the book is going to about. Once we have read the book we are going to do this activity again and see how our ideas have changed.

Camp Reflections
These are my favourite funniest most memorable moment and challenging moment
My favourite activity at camp was when we were playing the quiz game at night. Mrs P put on a song and we has to listen and write down the singer of the song my team got some answers wrong though. For example we were playing a quiz at night time and we were all having fun well most of us and the quiz game made some of us tired. I really liked all the camp activities but the quiz game was my favourite.
My most funniest activity was when mrs P went up and danced in front of the whole class in the morning.Mrs P got up in the morning and woke up some people and put on a song and her and mrs Lagen were dancing it was really funny. For example they were dancing to a song it was funny. That was my most funniest activity.
My most memorable moment is probably going to be when mrs P was dancing in front of the whole class because it was so funny :D. I liked it because Mrs P was dancing in front of everyone. For example mrs P was dancing to a song.
My most challenging moment was when we done the river crossing it was my most challenging moment because we had to cross a freezing cold river and i'm the shortest person in the class and it was almost up to my thigh!!! :O

Nikau palm trees have dark/light green leaves that are very sharp and spiky and also pointy and sharp but i don't think much people would touch the leaves because some people might be short.
Nikau palm trees have bumpy and round seeds that fall of them to make more nikau palm trees.
Nikau palm trees live in the west coast in the forest or jungle or something like that nikau palm trees might live in the open there is a couple of them in grey main school!!!
